What's New for the 2023 BMW i4?
The stunning i4 sedan debuted in BMW's lineup in 2022 as a luxurious, compact model. While everything about the i4 continues to be fresh and modern, BMW has significantly improved for the current model year. The 2023 BMW i4 eDrive35 is introduced as the new base trim level. This trim has a rear-mounted electric motor, and it packs a punch with its production of 281 horsepower. The other two powertrains are unchanged. A mid-level option is also a single-motor unit, producing 335 horsepower. The top trim has a dual-motor design and generates 469 horsepower. When Sport Boost mode is activated, this kicks up to 536 horsepower. An adaptive suspension and upgraded brakes are options.
The i4's refined façade remains the same for the 2023 model year. This sedan is characterized by a tall, narrow grille that partially impedes the upward-curving bumper for a stunning effect. The vertical air intake features are set back on the rounded nose. The double-accented, slanted headlights add a powerful touch. The commanding hood and swooping roof combine with the stunning contours on the sides to express the i4's dominance on the road.
The new base trim level offers a sunroof, a power liftgate, wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, synthetic leather seating, a 14.9-inch central display screen, keyless ignition, and a digital instrument cluster. Its standard safety tech includes front and rear parking sensors, automatic emergency braking, a lane departure alert, and a blind-spot sensor.
