BMW did it again at the 2017 Shanghai Auto Show. April 19 saw a first-ever BMW M4 CS unveiled. To what can we of supercar predilection look forward?
On the face of it, BMW M4 CS looks to be much more than the prospects suggested by a large, three-section air intake-studded front apron, long CFRP hood, and sizable wheel arches to wow lovers of muscle cars. Its model-specific carbon-fiber front splitter, BMW M4 GTS-style rear diffuser, and exposed carbon-fiber Gurney trunk spoiler lip give us a little more indication of what we might expect under the hood.
And power perceived is, as they say, power achieved -- M4 CS gives way finally to a high-output 454-horsepower TwinPower Turbo 3.0-liter engine, getting up and going with 442 pound-feet of torque. Nashville and Murfreesboro roadways – here we surely come. And why not? BMW M4 CS already took its prowess on a Nurburgring Nordschleife lap, finishing with a jaw-dropping 7 minutes and 38 seconds. And a preliminary acceleratory capability of zero to 60 mph in as little as 3.8 seconds, as well as a top speed of 174 mph, earns the vehicle a supercar moniker with ease.
One can likewise look forward to commanding the terrain from a cockpit as luxurious as the drive appears designed for thrills. M4 CS is set to offer a driver-centric interior replete with the creature comforts and amenities of both lightweight M sports seats with leather and Alcantara trims as well as automatic climate control, navigation, and a BMW HiFi audio system optimized for the supercar's cabin.
And with the precision gear adjustment made possible by an oil cooler-equipped, 7-speed M Double Clutch Transmission as well as BMW M specially tuned Dynamic Stability Control, an Adaptive M Suspension, and M Servotronic steering coming together for stable road and track maneuvering with dynamic range, M4 CS promises to be a blast to drive. You can even modify the drive feel with the Comfort, Sport, Sport+ and M Dynamic modes built into the supercar's Active M Differential.
Needless to say, our staff of BMW aficionados here at BMW of Nashville can't wait to get behind the wheel of a special-edition BMW M4 CS. We may have to wait until the model arrives sometime in 2018, but you don't have to wait to see how a model in our current 2018 BMW M4 lineup redefines the drive. Stop by and visit us here at 4040 Armory Oaks Drive in Nashville, and we'll introduce you to the BMW M4 convertible or coupe experience you've dreamed about. We look forward to meeting you!
