2020 BMW X1 vs 2020 BMW X2

Serving Brentwood, TN

In 2009, BMW introduced its X1 to Nashville drivers, and it quickly became a preferred vehicle in the compact luxury crossover segment. Today, the X1 is in its second generation and has modern appeal throughout the interior and exterior. In 2018, the X2 was released. It is also a compact luxury crossover SUV. While these two crossovers sit next to each other in the current BMW lineup, they are stunningly different in critical areas. Our BMW of Nashville sales associates will happily assist with your comparison of these two beautiful models.

For the 2020 model year, the X1 and X2 are each available in two unique trims. The same powertrain is loaded into all of the options. This is a TwinPower Turbo 2.0-liter, 4-cylinder engine that produces 228 horsepower. It also shows off with acceleration up to 60 miles per hour in 6.6 seconds in each model across both of their trims. The most noticeable difference in their performance equipment and capabilities lies in their suspension systems. The X1 has a standard suspension system, and the X2 has a sport-tuned suspension system.

The X1 and X2 for 2020 also are visibly different for easy recognition on the road. The X1 has an urban feel with an upright stance. A chrome strip connects the two segments of its grille. The sharp LED lights flare out from the grille, and this cluster of features is mounted over a 3-segment air vent with black mesh. The hood and sides have angled elegant contouring. Integrated roof rails, dual exhaust finishers, a panoramic sunroof, and black body molding, complete the look. In comparison, the X2 has a coupe-like profile that creates an athletic feel. The grille has a similar design, as you will find in the X1, but it is segmented by a body-colored element. The LED headlights have a sharper angle as they fade toward the rear. The fog lamps are mounted above the black air vents. This SUV has thicker body molding, a panoramic sunroof, dual exhaust tips, and a liftgate spoiler.

Many of the features in these two SUVs are comparable across their trim levels. They both are available with high-quality upholstery, heated front seats, a floating display screen on top of the dashboard, smart device app integration, a navigation system, a heads-up display, wireless connectivity, advanced safety features, a multi-zone auto climate control system and other items.
