It features a segmented and chrome-accented grille, circular LED foglights, and jewel-like LED headlights. There are subtle differences on the sides of these vehicles. The 2017 X5 has chiseled sides with an air vent near the fender. The 2018 X5 has smoother sides with gentle undulations for definition.
